We air live every Tuesday (or maybe Thursday) around 9am at www.ustream.tv/channel/good-morning-interwebs.
We'll be doing the next episode from Dogpatch Labs on Thursday, January 28th at 9am.The show is hosted by Alli Mooney and Meghan Keane
Meghan is in London so Alli was joined by guest host Charlie O’Donnell for yesterday’s Good Morning Interwebs. They got a behind the scenes glimpse of the Web 2.0 Expo. Here’s the recap:
Arrive at mission control and meet Stephanie who makes the magic happen
.45: Check out dennis ShamWow headset: “IT slices, it dices, it’s foursquare!”
12: Dennis worries his shill isn’t appropriate for this high-level audience
50: He just got back from presenting at Mobile Monday in Amsterdam, where there were 3 Dutch Nates!
45: Brady Forrest, the MC and organizer of the conference, says hi, we discuss Dennis entrance, their smoke budget was cut when the economy collapsed
15: Brady has a friend that sells electronic cigs. Cigarettes are designed to kill you, kids.
Things Dennis is most excited about: Boxee and Hot Potato
Will “food spotting” be the next hot app? People do love taking photos of their food… In fact, Foursquare will be integrating photos soon.
50: Breaking foursquare into layers of bureaucracy—creating rewards for people besides mayors
35: Brady calls for more badge transparency. Also, Naveen is a liar.
45: Naveen’s crazy ergonomic keyboard that looks like its made for paws is super loud. Solution: Buy him a muffler? Perhaps a foam body tarp?
Alli realizes that every episode of GMI we talk about foursquare – obviously a huge traffic driver
30: GMI is Dennis’ favorite web show, second to Criss Angel, natch
20: Dennis says Criss Angel is an asshole, though he secretly wants to be him
Alli was a My Little Pony girl, also Strawberry Shortcake and Cabbage Patch Kids. Dennis used to smash the face of his sister’s Preemie, he’s sorry now. Also, Charlie sure know a lot about dolls from the 80s.
45: Bryce Roberts is the poor man’s GPS
15: Poor man’s augmented reality in Amsterdam= cut out mustaches
45: It’s more dangerous to use the bike lanes in NYC than the regular streets because of stupid walking people. Solution: get a pedestrian bumper.
Charlie is a GMI groupie. All bald white guys look alike similar.
45: Charlie has a good question: What is the next O’Reilly conference topic after Web 2.0? The Real-Time Web? Charlie says he doesn’t need real time information, but that’s what people said about social. Also, that’s not information overload, it’s filter failure. Foursquare is a filter as are Twitter clients. A cool filter that was built sucks out foursquare check-ins from Twitter and puts them into a specific list broken out by city.
30: 2-minute call for dennis. He didn’t bring any intro music! But off he goes…
We were hoping his talk would be livestreamed, but not so much, however it might appear here if we’re lucky: http://tv.web2expo.com/
